Dr. Joe Packheiser was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended college at Illinois State University for a Bachelors degree in Biology and a Masters degree in Environmental Biology. He served in the US Army for two years and worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health before being accepted into Veterinary School. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois in 1984.
His first job as a Veterinarian was at the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic here in Greensboro. He bought Spring Valley Animal Hospital in 1988 and then merged with Southwoods Animal Hospital in 1994.
Dr. Joe is married, has two children, and enjoys playing golf and racquetball, and horseback riding.
Dr. Tana Albright was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. She majored in pre-veterinary medicine and received her Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. She went to The Ohio State University for her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Albright spent her senior year preceptorship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists, which introduced her to Greensboro, N.C. She has worked at Southwoods Animal Hospital since July of 2001. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, especially endocrinology, as well as dermatology and surgery.
Dr. Albright lives in Greensboro with her two Labrador Retrievers and her tabby cat. In her free time she enjoys traveling, running, yoga, and participating in theater.
Dr. Corinne McGregor is originally from northeast Indiana where she grew up on a horse farm. She was active in the regional horse shows and local 4-H. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Findlay in 1998. Dr. McGregor attended The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After she graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2004, she came to North Carolina to start her career. Dr. McGregor’s special interests include geriatrics, cardiology, and surgery.
Dr. McGregor lives in Jamestown with her husband, daughter, two beagles and a three-legged cat. She enjoys reading, hiking, crafts, and baking.
