I
am a native of Arizona and received my DVM from CSU. I have broad veterinary experience. My areas of special
interest include dermatology, cardiology, and oncology, which is
treatment of cancer. Before joining Faust in 1997, I worked at various
hospitals valley-wide. My duties included medical workups, emergency
care, surgery, follow-up care, examinations, and treatment of
hospitalized patients. I also filled in for other veterinarians,
prescribing and delivering medications, performing surgery and working
with exotics.
While studying for my doctorate I gained experience working in
clinics and animal hospitals in Phoenix, New York and California. I
helped with blood work, catheterization, administering treatments, and
assisted with emergencies. I also took histories, performed initial
physical exams, administered anesthesia, even admitted and discharged
patients.
After I graduated from Coronado High School in Scottsdale with high
distinction, I began my undergraduate work at the University of Arizona.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health Science with honors
and high distinction from the U of A.
Music has always been an important part of my life. I attended
four years at the University of Arizona on a music scholarship. I
was a part of the marching band, wind ensemble, jazz band and sax
quartet. I represented UofA in the 1984 Olympic Band.
Currently I am a part of a community, handbell choir, Campanillas del
Sol, which will be touring Europe this summer.
My other hobbies include downhill skiing, reading novels, hiking with
my dogs and water aerobics. I recently got married to a water
engineer named Bob, who also enjoys skiing and hiking. His
daughter, Sashia, is 12, and enjoys riding her horse and playing the
tuba.
I have two dogs, Wiley a black lab, and Missy a beagle, and I just
got a new black lab puppy named Jetson.
I’m involved with the local veterinary association and other
professional organizations including the Arizona Veterinary Medical
Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and the American
Animal Hospital Association.
