A Massachusetts native, Bruce Weiner grew up in Belmont where his family still lives. In 1968 he enrolled and majored in zoology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and then entered the University Of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine three years later. To help pay his way through veterinary school, he was hired by the Veterinary Library and taught microbiology to nursing students. Dr. Weiner received his medical degree in 1975, practicing at the Belmont Animal Hospital until shortly after he and his wife he and his wife Myrna opened their Boston practice, Dr. Weiner’s Pet Care Center, in 1978. A second location, Cambridge Veterinary Care, was opened in 1991. Dr. Weiner often attends national Veterinary conventions. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Dental Society and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to issue international health certificates. He and his wife Myrna have two sons, Harry and Ben, of whom they are very proud.

Myrna Robinson-Weiner is a native of Worcester, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Worcester State College and the practice manager here at Cambridge Veterinary Care. Throughout the year she attends meetings of various veterinary organizations. She is happily married to Dr. Bruce Weiner and they have two sons, Harry and Ben. In her spare time Myrna likes to curl up with a good book and her cats, Midnight and Bentley. If you would like to reach her, you can send her an email.

Kim is a Boston native and has never been one to hide her affinity for animals. Having owned a pet since childhood, Kim has had hands-on experience with creatures of all shapes and sizes – from hamsters to horses. She was a frequent guest at the Johnston and Johnston riding stables throughout her early years. Soon thereafter, Kim attained a position at Dr. Weiner’s Pet Care Center on Huntington Ave as a volunteer. He soon hired Kim as a veterinary technician. Kim married her high school sweetheart and they’ve settled down in West Roxbury with their two children. They own two dogs and one cat, which Kim loves immensely. Despite her busy schedule, Kim often attends the North American Veterinary Conferences that are held in Florida every year and plans to continue her work in the veterinary field as long as there are animals in need of treatment.

Nicole has been a part of our team since 2000. Animals have always been a great love of hers and she has spent her entire life working with them, first as a groomer and then as a technician. A life-long resident of Medford, Nicole married her long time sweetie, Angelo. She and her husband just welcomed their first little bundle of joy, adding to their already happy family including two wonderful and very spoiled dogs. She loves spending time with them and the baby when she’s not working.

Jennifer is our resident vegan. With such devotion to animals, it was always a dream of hers to work with them. She helped rescue feral cats and often volunteered at spay/neuter clinics. She started working at the Chelsea Animal Clinic and stayed there for three years before joining our team in 2006. She’s our staff’s certified veterinary nutritional advocate and your best resource for your pet’s nutritional needs. You can email her if you have a question or two. Her two rescued kitties eagerly await her daily return home from work: the lovely Miss Monkey and the lovelier, and fluffier Mr. Deluxe Montgomery. She enjoys photography, dinner and dance parties.

Rosie lives in Allston, Massachusetts. She currently attends Boston University with a graduation date of January, 2009 and plans to go on to veterinary school afterward. She started working with us in June, 2007 with previous experience at Ipswich Animal Care and The Feline Hospital in Salem, MA. She recently acquired two new kittens, Lola and Carlos, whom she has found room in her heart for, along with her two family cats, Noodles and Ferguson, and her handsome Rottweiler-mix, Chandler (cha-wow). And don’t forget about her everlasting goldfish, Gill/Bill/Bob.

Vanessa started working with us in August, 2007 after leaving her job at The Revere-Winthrop Veterinary Clinic. She currently lives in Somerville with her 3 year old son, Erik, and her husband, Juan. Growing up, she had dogs her entire life. After her last dog passed away she has been trying to convince Juan to get a new puppy! Vanessa spends most of her free time with her son and when he is sleeping she dyes her hair and buys lots of shoes.

Our smiling receptionist Laureen joined our staff in September 2007. We don’t know how we ever got along without her! She is a native of Somerville but currently resides in Arlington with her two sons, Matthew and Michael. When she is not attending to the many needs of our clients, she can usually be found at a local hockey rink cheering on one of her son’s teams. Go Arlington! After she got her first pet ever, Fiona, she couldn’t help but get another one. Now she has another cute kitty, Diesel, who was rescued from an auto body shop and couldn’t be more in love.

Irina joined our practice in January of 2008 after working at Animal Clinic East in Walla Walla, Washington. She’s originally from the Republic of Moldova, but went to college here in the U.S. and considers it to be her second home. She is on her path to becoming a doctor of veterinary medicine, and would like to practice here in the States. However, she also wants to contribute to improving the state of veterinary medicine in her home country, Moldova. She has never had a pet before, but treats all the pets we see here as her own. Irina enjoys being outdoors and in her spare time she likes to explore beautiful Boston.

Silver used to live a luxurious life in our Huntington Avenue location but after many years she decided to pursue a more active lifestyle in Cambridge. She tries to get to the gym as often as she can but would rather join her kitty friend Jane in a game of double dutch or hopscotch. Jane has spoken about her world travels and the jealous Silver is planning a vacation to the Cayman Islands in the summer of 2008. When Silver’s not working up a sweat, she can most likely be found relaxing in the jacuzzi. She can’t be expected to give up all of her luxury!

Jane came to us in June of 2006. After traveling the world and visiting such exotic locations as Paris, Venice, Tokyo, and Jamaica she decided the only place for her was right here in her home town of Cambridge. She lounges around the office and loves all the attention from our visitors (except the dogs!). When she’s not being pampered by our clients and staff she can be found sleeping somewhere comfortable. Some of her hobbies include canasta, double dutch, painting landscapes, and knitting. She’s super friendly so be sure to give her some pats when you come in!

Robert Godfrey, a groomer, will be joining our team! He has been teaching grooming skills to eager students in Medford as well as running his own business for over 30 years. He’ll be grooming both dogs and cats in his new space downstairs with brand new, state-of-the-art equipment! Come by to meet with Robert and take a peek!
